Relevant master's degree

The Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) is an APA accredited post-master’s professional degree for those pursuing the highest level of practice in clinical psychology. Utilizing the practitioner-scholar model, the doctoral program provides a comprehensive foundation in the scientific bases of psychology to ground clinical training, dissertation research, and scholarship.

The main goal of the doctoral training in Experimental Psychology is to provide students with a more elaborate and deeper understanding of human psychology through theoretical and empirical endeavor in core areas of psychological science such as behavioral and cognitive neuroscience, cognition, learning, memory, sensation and perception, biopsychology, electrophysiology, research methodology, statistics, computer programming and brain imaging.

Human resource management and organizational behavior students (GRHCO) will develop a taste for research and knowledge with respect to matters related to the human aspect of the work, as topics at the individual level (p. ex. recruitment, selection, job analysis, performance), relational subjects (p. ex. link people to work, mentors-protected relationship, leader-follower relationship, diversity and equity) and subjects at the organizational level (p. ex. organizational learning, change management, compensation systems, industrial relations), but also in relation to subjects from other disciplines such as psychology and sociology.

The Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy programmes in Parapsychology seek to provide evidenced-based instruction and opportunities for significant research to mature individuals with a clear interest in understanding complex, often misrepresented and misunderstood phenomena of human life.

IUGS students are typically mid-career professionals who completed post-baccalaureate coursework. Students who need additional coursework to fulfill their requirements will be provided the opportunity to take the course(s) at another accredited institution or through independent study at IUGS.

Marriage and Family Therapy

The mission of the PhD in East-West Psychology at CIIS is to explore the convergence of Eastern, Western, and Indigenous psychologies and spiritualities in the spirit of dialogue and integral inquiry. Our students engage in research subjects that explore the meaning of this convergence for a diverse, multicultural, and peaceful world. Our graduates are prepared for professional careers in academia and research, activism and organizational leadership, and spiritual counseling or coaching. Our faculty have a wide range of research interests, among them: Asian wisdom traditions, yoga studies, Integral Yoga, traditional Chinese medicine, Depth and archetypal psychologies, Western religious and esoteric traditions, folklore and mythology, ecopsychology, indigenous psychospiritualities, plant medicines, non-ordinary states of consciousness, and transpersonal and existential psychologies.

Transpersonal psychology is transformative psychology of mind and body, and of the individual in felt connection with a diverse, interconnected, and evolving world. The field pays particular attention to mystical, spiritual, and other exceptional human experiences associated with healing and transformation—encounters that disclose a vibrant reality that enfolds our seemingly individual minds. We offer a whole-person approach to transpersonal psychology that includes learning and research structured to meet the needs and goals of working professionals. This approach includes affiliation with a planned research laboratory; a peer-reviewed journal produced in part by student interns; and senior scholars in the field who are available to guide student research. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, embodied tools for scholarship, and systematic approaches to building transpersonal areas of knowledge. Our program is offered as a part-time course of study, where online learning is supplemented by residential intensives.

Our program combines experiential learning with a serious academic inquiry and our graduates become transpersonal scholars, transpersonally-oriented therapists and healers, transformative educators, and change agents in various social and organizational contexts.

Teaching and research in the Department of Applied Psychology cover many exciting areas, including occupational health psychology, counselling psychology, applied social psychology, cross-cultural psychology, cognitive psychology, and human-computer interaction, etc.

The PhD in Psychology emerges as the fruit of a serious investment in this scientific area, not only through the provision of a highly qualified and research-oriented teaching staff, but also through the investment in its own infrastructures and specific resources, which serve both pedagogical and how they assume themselves as intentional promoters of the scientific activities of students and teachers.
